505 will have another 505 is his possession. This week I will be making the haul down to drive back from NJ. 1984 505 STi (trololo on Subie drivers). Grey, blue leather. Automatique but I need it for when my knees are bad. Euro headlights, clean non-TRX wheels. Can't wait to get it back and check it out for a summer daily. The 4Matic wagon is holding out till the end of winter - whenever that is... love the color combo.

Top trivia: US and everyone else's 505s had their exhausts on different sides.

Citroen used to do a BX TRD. They renamed it as the DTR for English speaking markets.

Nice. Now all I need is a Saab 900 and all will be right with the world.

Keep me posted! I work 8am to 5pm, so I'm not even remotely free until later in the day, but if you come down on Saturday, food is on me! I owe you one anyway. You can also get a look at the dirtball SL (covered in dust from the garage because it's too cold to detail) and the HEMIWagon.

you know it. Few other things, gas tank?

I will keep you posted for sure man! Depends on how many days I am going to take to do it. One day would be crazy but doable. Hmmm

Yes, moving the fuel tank caused the other changes.

Very nice! Despite being a fellow 80s Peugeot owner I haven't even been a passenger in a 505. I'm jealous.

I wish I had the ability to host a guest at my house, just no space with 5 people in the house.
But keep me posted either way and I'll see what I can do.

Sacre bleu! Un autre Peugeot! Magnifique!

Awesome! So what engine is it, the 100hp 2.0? And how come the headlights are Euro-style in a pre-'86 car?
![]() 03/02/2015 at 08:12 |
|
must have been swapped, it looks like half of his 505's had the swap done. 117hp 2.0l, but still a stout engine. 505 doesnt have to go fast

how did a miss this?! Congrats, have fun. True story: just bought a set of these wheels for my 2.0, they are 9,5 kilograms, if you're interested, while the factors 14" steelies are 8kg. Also, if it's 117 HP, does that mean it's a ZEJ (Douvrin) injection engine?

thanks man! Wow I did not know about the weight savings on those wheels, I am just psyched they are non TRX! It is an L Jetronic Douvrin 2.0, but it is mated to the slushbox for now. Wonder how much of a dog it is going to be
![]() 03/03/2015 at 09:56 |

Oh i mean 9,5 kg per wheel, so it's 1,5kg more than the steelies, but it's also bigger and looks much better, so doesn't count :-)
The engine is superb, i have driven an old (1980) 505 STI with one (it got to 2.2 on most markets in 1982 i think) supposed to be 110 hp when new, and felt every single one after 30 years, very lively. Never tried the slushbox, but as it's a ZF unit also used by other european makes, it's not supposed to be that bad.....
The lights seem to be a bit faded on the pictures to me, you might not see much at all with them, if you drive at night, but these are good headlights otherwise, so it's worth it to redo the mirror. anyhow best of luck for your drive home!

Ill check those out, they did look a little dull, but they are better than the US spec ones regardless. I will be doing the drive home in the dark so I hope they are decent. I do have a chase car for the drive home for most of the way, but man the highway in my state is DARK
